I don’t believe in dieting!

So what is this craze about Diets! All type of Diets…protein diet, south beach diet … seems like every Tom, Dick and Harry is coming up with a plan of their own and writing a book about it!

I don’t believe in starving myself or denying myself the small pleasures of life (namely fried foods, junk food, chocolates, coke, etc ;-) ). However, what I do believe in is controlling the amount of food you eat. Its not what you eat but how much you eat … at least that’s the philosophy that works for me.

I have seen so many women saying, “oh I don’t eat anything … I have no idea where I get all that fat from.” One day I actually got to look at the amount of food they were piling up on their second or third helping and I knew where all that fat was coming from.

What has worked for me

*Exercise regulary: It keeps you healthy physically as well as emotionally, builds your stamina, and corrects your metabolic rate.

*Eating Habits: Eat whatever you want but only eat when you are hungry and eat as much as you need. A few small snacks in between don’t hurt ;-)

The Difference

When I am not exercising and just being a lazy couch potato, I start looking like one, too. I tend to eat much more..the number of times I eat is more…the amount of food I eat is more. More food cravings = more food intake = more weight.

However, as soon as I start exercising, initially I am famished after the exercises and need to eat. But slowly my metabolism just falls into its own rythm and I find myself eating less and even not wanting to eat at times. The amount of junk food is reduced automatically because the cravings are less and less. My body does it for me … I just have to listen to it.

Results

Don’t expect results in 2 days or even 2 months. Its a slow process which is why its the right way to go. Your body needs to adjust and that takes time. Anything that works miracles in days is something to beware of. The faster you lose, the faster it comes back. You need to get your body to find its own balance and that takes time.

PS

I am not passing out any medical advise here. So please exercise at your own risk.
