I haven’t exactly read up on this but I’ve had at least 10 people tell me how one’s whole life is based on the laws of attraction.
So from what I know the law of attraction basically states that if you believe something will happen, then you end up attracting it towards yourself. If you believe you will make a million dollars, the universe will conspire and you will attract a million dollars.
I guess this is what was once called a self fulfilling prophecy. But the premise was of course much more realistic. And that is if you believe something bad enough, you consciously and sub consciously start working towards that goal. So much so that it actually happens. It is the power of the right or wrong attitude. It’s like if you believe hard enough that you will fail, how can you ever succeed with that attitude? Obviously you are gonna fail. If you are darn sure you will win, you will! Because then all your actions are directed towards that goal.
IMO it is more the law of determination or the law of belief than the law of attraction at work here.
But of course people need something to believe in. This force at work … outside of their reality .. something that makes things happen. So doesn’t that make the laws of attraction just another phrase to describe God? Except of course that is such a taboo word for some and people are so off religion nowadays. So why not come up with a beter explanation and call it the laws of attraction. Why say it is God giving you what you want when you can say … why it is the law of attraction.
You still believe in something … just with a more modern twist.
Why don’t people learn from history?
History has taught us that anyone with ideas of world domination has gone on to expand their empire but only to an extent … after which they have all faced their downfall. Be it Ghengis Khan or Alexander the Great or be it Hitler, anyone who has tried it, has eventually faced their doom. Yet people … countries do not learn. The struggle for power goes on.
I used to wonder how people can be brainwashed into thinking that a person of a certain race or religion is such a threat that they need to be emiminated at any cost. And I wondered how and what can change a normal person so much that they can be bullied into that way of thinking?
Looking back in retrospect I could not understand. May be because things like these don’t happen in a day … they happen over time. A series of events whether real or planted lead to brainwashing people to a certain way of thinking.
I wondered what could lead to one country invading another while people watched and did nothing or even justified the act. But now I know that countries will be invaded in the name of peace and in the name of freedom. And people will watch! And there are those who will cheer!
The struggle for power goes on in the name of peace, freedom and protection. It has happened before … and it will happen again!
One thing I cannot stand is arrogance in people and believe me I’ve had my share of those. Its amazing the things people will find to be arrogant about.
This includes people who think they are totally amazing because of x factor. And believe me they can find a 100 different reasons that x can be replaced with. They think that no one in the world is as amazing as them because of xyz reasons.
All I gotta say is: People get over yourselves!!
And also: A little modesty never hurt anyone!
There seems to be a mania about getting thinner and thinner nowadays. Is it something in the air or some germ in the water since it seems like almost everyone’s got it?
I can understand healthy thin and smart thin. What I don’t get is anorexic thin. The kind where you look at a person and think, “Oh Gosh! How do all the organs and bone and flesh fit in there!?” And then you are forced to think, “Errr, what flesh?”
Some curves are nice - in all the right places, of course
A stick thin, flat girl looks plain weird! I have seen girls I though had perfect figures and looked great!!! But guess what I heard them complaining about?
It’s a world gone mad! And that is the only explanation I can give!
So what is this craze about Diets! All type of Diets…protein diet, south beach diet … seems like every Tom, Dick and Harry is coming up with a plan of their own and writing a book about it!
I don’t believe in starving myself or denying myself the small pleasures of life (namely fried foods, junk food, chocolates, coke, etc
). However, what I do believe in is controlling the amount of food you eat. Its not what you eat but how much you eat … at least that’s the philosophy that works for me.
I have seen so many women saying, “oh I don’t eat anything … I have no idea where I get all that fat from.” One day I actually got to look at the amount of food they were piling up on their second or third helping and I knew where all that fat was coming from.
What has worked for me
*Exercise regulary: It keeps you healthy physically as well as emotionally, builds your stamina, and corrects your metabolic rate.
*Eating Habits: Eat whatever you want but only eat when you are hungry and eat as much as you need. A few small snacks in between don’t hurt
The Difference
When I am not exercising and just being a lazy couch potato, I start looking like one, too. I tend to eat much more..the number of times I eat is more…the amount of food I eat is more. More food cravings = more food intake = more weight.
However, as soon as I start exercising, initially I am famished after the exercises and need to eat. But slowly my metabolism just falls into its own rythm and I find myself eating less and even not wanting to eat at times. The amount of junk food is reduced automatically because the cravings are less and less. My body does it for me … I just have to listen to it.
Results
Don’t expect results in 2 days or even 2 months. Its a slow process which is why its the right way to go. Your body needs to adjust and that takes time. Anything that works miracles in days is something to beware of. The faster you lose, the faster it comes back. You need to get your body to find its own balance and that takes time.
PS
I am not passing out any medical advise here. So please exercise at your own risk.
